water collection system is still in progress. more work on this project will happen in summer 09.
In the house there are two stacks which go to the sewer. One receives only from the two toilets and the other gets all other drain water (sinks, showers, laundry), including the water from the large flat roof. The plan for the water collection system is to tap into the 'grey water' stack ABOVE all the drain entry points and insert a diversion valve which allows us to divert rain water from the roof to a storage vessel. we will use PVC piping outisde the house to run the water around the building. The vessel will likely be on a small tower (approx. 15 feet high).
