So... I rode the train instead of riding my bike today, because I had equipment to carry to a workshop I was doing at DCTV. The subway is generally a bad experience for me, because its hot, people are crammed in, it increases my commute time by 15-30 min., and most importantly, i dont get the joy and freedom of RIDING MY BIKE!. However, what was positive was that I got a chance to read a bunch of the new Indypendent Issue (<--click to read this special issue on Climate Change). I am going to send a hard copy to some personal friends and family who I know will appreciate it, and I decided to take a moment and share it with you all - my illusive blogwatchers. This issue is awesome. I highly highly recommend taking a look at some of the articles in here. Too often these days, I think we get sidetracked (brainwashed!) by 'greenwashing' into thinking that everything is going to be alright afterall and even though Al Gore made that Oscar-winning horror-docu-powerpoint, in the end... the rationale of the market will carry us to a safe and secure future where we can still drive our cars and sit in our air conditioned houses and eat food that has been shipped around the world. This ain't the case people. This is my personal thanks to the Indy print collective here in NYC (which rocks it with every issue!) for reminding us that
INDUSTRIAL CAPITALISM IS (still) THE PROBLEM !!!
thanks, y'all.
