Hello everyone, what have you been up to? 2016 being kind to you so far? I sure hope so!
Let’s get back to business, cose I have some hot news here – a partnership in the gaming world that I think will bring some improvements to the overall player experience across platforms and operators. Let’s have a quick look at the main players here.
The first one – DeltaDNA is the leading real-time analytics platform for mobile games, supplying operators with that crucial data about their customer’s preferences and behavior – anything from ads, in-app purchases and other personal choices to device settings. That data is in the heart of the progress in the industry since developers and gaming operators use it to improve their existing services and create new ones matching customer’s expectations and desires.
On the other hand, we have Newzoo – a market research and analytics company, also focusing on games and mobile. They are employed by most of the top 25 public gaming companies worldwide and a number of giants of the hardware, media sector and independent game developers.
So the big news is, those two are entering a partnership this year in which they will combine their resources and expertise in their respective fields in order to offer even better intelligence for the gaming market. The companies have worked together over a number of project during last year and since that has proved to be a success, this seemed the logical step to follow.
Mark Robinson, CEO at deltaDNA shares his view on the news:
“Newzoo and deltaDNA are both companies that love data, and they have highly complementary activities, data and expertise. I believe that working closely together, and combining our capabilities will make our services even more valuable to our clients. Equally important, we have the same global ambitions and desire to continuously innovate and share our vision with the world.”
The first result of their joint venture will be a quarterly publication, covering viable statistical data from the mobile games industry. Given the gigantic and ever growing size of the information, there are many companies out there specialising in narrow areas of the topic. This is why the partnership is thought to benefit both parties and above all – gaming operators and therefore – their customers as a result. See, I know there is that craze for privacy that I can hear some of you already getting to, but hang on. Do you honestly think that someone out there cares about a picture of your breakfast? Or your grandmother’s telephone number? And let’s face it – even your girlfriend isn’t that fancy, and even if she was – an algorithm can’t really distinguish between her and a hundred other similar looking faces. So the point of collecting that data is that – studying and improving customer experience. And imho, this can’t be a bad thing. So chill and enjoy the progress.
That’s it from me for now folks, enjoy your week and come back soon to check on me, I have more news cooking!
